I used to be terribly reluctant to go to the dentist, after multiple bad experiences as a child and young adult. I mean, who likes Dental Visits?!
After searching high and low, I found M & M. Now, I look forward to going Every Time! Lindsey and Dr. Maher feel like long-time friends or even family and take Great care with every patient. I see them regularly and did Invisalign here. They are also very accommodating whether afraid of machine (drill) sounds (me ), wanting to watch television, or cold! Absolutely Amazing EVERY TIME. If you're considering them or debating no need to waste visits on other dentists or offices. You won't have any regrets about the professionalism, level of care, or treatment delivered!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizangela L.Friendswood, TX03Apr 16, 2024
BEWARE This place is out of network with every insurance. I normally pay $0 for a cleaning with my insurances and I ended up paying 368$ because they decided to take x rays and do extra exams. They won't tell you about the out of network until you got all the work done.

I have been to several dentistry clinics and this one is by far the BEST! From the front desk you are greeted with very friendly staff, hygienist, X-ray technicians and the best Dentist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! She was extremely professional and I was very impressed by the way she talked me through every step of the process making sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting the best of care. I wish I had known her many years ago! Make your appointment today...you won't regret it!

BEWARE: This dental practice uses fear mongering techniques to coerce you into expensive, un-needed dental treatments.
I was looking for a reputable dental office closer to work but instead I left feeling like I was being hustled and lied to.
I was so concerned about what I was told, that as soon as I left, I scheduled an appointment for the following week with a well- respected dental practice for a second opinion. The comparisons are as followed:
Montz and Maher told me that my gums were at 4mm & 5mm and that I had gingivitis. I needed to have a Gum Therapy and Gum Disinfection Treatment over the course of 4 months and it would cost me $1,500. This treatment is not covered under insurance. I was told they would not clean my teeth that I had to have the treatment because it is what the hygienist recommended. They also stated I would need to have 3 fillings at $500. Watch out for the ridiculous 6-year warranty that they tack on without your consent.
Fast forward one week exactly at another dental office,
The HIGHEST gum level was 3mm which is considered healthy and normal gum tissue. I had very little plaque on my teeth. I did NOT have gingivitis. One filling did need to be replaced. I did have mild irritation to my back molar gum line due to using my water pic at too high of a setting. She said this would go away with warm salt water rinses. I had great bone health and after not being to the dentist in a year, she was very pleased with how great of shape my teeth and gums were in. She could tell that I used good at home care. She was shocked that the previous dental hygienist would chart my gums at such high numbers and did not understand where she got the diagnosis. She has been a dental hygienist for 27 years and this is not the first time she has heard of a dental practice making incorrect diagnosis for financial gain.
On to the next part, I get a text to my cellphone on 12/12/23 stating that I owe a balance of $203. I call my insurance company and asked how this could be. They precede to tell me that Montz and Maher are out-of-network providers so they will only pay up to a certain amount. When I called their office and asked if they accepted my insurance and they tell me, "Yes", that led me to believe that they are in-network so my preventative visit would be covered. If not, they should have told me upfront. I scheduled my appointment a month in advance. The office had plenty of time to tell me I would most likely be paying out of pocket costs. They failed to do so and now I am responsible for $203 on top of the $30 I paid the office at the end of my visit. They said they marked in their chart that they told me my visit would be out-of-network. I am 100% certain that did not happen. I would NEVER schedule an appointment knowing that I would be left with out-of-pocket costs by an out-of-network provider.
The office manager called and explained their position but that still does not make what happened to me right.
At the end the end of the day they are still demanding that I pay the $203.
This is a shame and terrible business practice. I will not recommend ANYONE to any of their practices and will advise against it. If they did this to me, they will do it to you.
It has been a little over a week and I am still very ANGRY because I was hustled and lied to.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Avery H.Pearland, TX01Mar 1, 2023
There quote is wayyyyy offf!!! How does a dental office estimate give quotes and charges you over half their estimate!? I'm in home sales and our monthly quotes have to be in rage. I wouldn't recommend anyone to try this place unless they have money to blow.

We appreciate your taking time to leave a review and we’re sorry you felt you had a frustrating dental experience. We cannot locate you as a patient of record at our office, and so we cannot cross-reference any services we may have provided. Regarding insurance estimates, we do our best to be as accurate as possible and maximize benefits but sometimes those can change when the claims are filed. We invite you to call our office so we can discuss and resolve your concerns.

This dentist is outside of my network. They told me to pay upfront costs for my fillings which I did and agreed on the pricing. Which I paid almost $1,000 for 5 fillings and X-ray. They called me back a month after stating they need an additional $800.
For what? And they never sent me any receipt to my email. I had to get it from my insurance. How is this legal?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for your feedback, Mel. We try our best to aim for the highest-quality dental care and patient support standards. We understand that negotiating insurance and billing statements can be confusing and overwhelming. Sometimes reimbursements that are due to the practice are sent to patients instead, and we know that causes confusion which can reflect back on us. We are sorry if there was any miscommunication and if we may have missed our customer service goals. We invite you to call our office to discuss your account and answer any questions.

One the absolute best experiences I've had at a dental office! Fantastic staff and Dr. Maher was very through and walked you through his process. Desiree was so sweet and did an amazing job on my cleaning! I definitely recommend this practice!

I called this office to make appointments for both of my children due to their availability and reviews. Upon scheduling the appointments, I was told that they could see one of my children who has Aetna PPO dental insurance because they "ACCEPTED" Aetna, but could not see my other son because he has a UnitedHealth Care Medicaid plan, in which they do not accept.
Typically when an office tells you they accept a specific insurance, that is because they are "in-network" and have a contract with that insurance. Turns out they are not in-network with Aetna and now what should have been covered @ 100% due to being preventive care is my responsibility. The reason they would not "ACCEPT" the UnitedHealth Care insurance is because they will not pay for out of network charges and the office would not be allowed to bill me based on the plan being issued through Medicaid. Otherwise, why not allow both of my children to be seen?
The office staff neglected to tell me that they were out of network and that my out of pocket expenses were going to be higher than normal. Had I known that, I would have declined the two extra x-rays.
That is not a good business practice and my family will not be returning. That is pretty sad considering the Dentist and hygienist were kind and professional.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Heather and thanks for your feedback. We're sincerely sorry for any confusion or miscommunication you felt occurred as a result of your visit to our Pearland dental office. Dental insurance is diverse, with a range of what procedures are covered, and what portion is covered. We do our best to communicate to patients that while we can accept most insurance plans, not all are in network; we work with our patients to maximize their insurance benefits, but it is ultimately up to them to understand their plans. However, we do not accept any Medicaid plans. Thank you for the feedback; we will take this into account to make sure we are doing our best to communicate as clearly as possible about insurance benefits to our patients.

The staff at Dr. Montz's office is the most friendly and honest group of dental professionals I've ever done business with. I've gone to other dentists before, but I was never pleased with my experience and I felt like they weren't honest with me. There is really something different about Dr. Montz's staff.
I live in Waco now, but I refuse to see anyone else! I scheduled off work and drove four hours just to be there!
If you're looking for a good place to take your family for dental treatment, there's no better place than Dr. Montz!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan D.Redondo Beach, CA0272Nov 23, 2019
This office came highly recommended by several people, and as someone who dreads the necessary evil that is dental work, I decided to give them a try. From the front office, to the hygienists, to Dr. Maher, I was very impressed. They were patient, very gentle, didn't recommended unnecessary work, took great care of me, and Dr. Maher personally checked in on me a couple hours after my sedated root canal. Dental work is inevitable, so if you're apprehensive like me (or not!), I highly recommend Dr. Maher and his office.
