- Accidentally biting lips or tongue.
- Getting a tooth knocked out.
- Having an object stuck between teeth.
- Suffering from severe tooth pain.
At Montz and Maher Dental Group, our team proudly offers emergency dentistry for families in the Pearland and Friendswood area.
Bitten Lip or Tongue
If you bite your lip or tongue, make sure to clean the area and use a cold compress on the area to help reduce swelling. Call to make an appointment with us so we can examine the wound. If the deep or large, or if you can’t get the bleeding to stop, call our emergency dentists right away.
Tooth Knocked Out
Sometimes a tooth is knocked out during rigorous activities. If this happens to you, hold it at the crown and carefully rinse it off. Place the tooth back into the socket if possible, and hold it in place until you get to our office. If you can’t get it back in the socket, place it in a glass of milk. Make sure you call us right away because the sooner you are treated, the better the chances of saving your tooth.
Object Caught Between Teeth
Be careful not to tear, chew through, or twist things with your teeth like metal or plastic. If you do happen to get something stuck between your teeth, try to use floss to get it out. If you can’t get the object out, then call us for a visit with an emergency dentist. DO NOT use pointed objects to try to get the foreign object out.
